The Co-operative Federation of BC is an association of member housing co-ops and related organizations in British Columbia. We share office space with our national counterpart, CHF Canada, the Community Housing Land Trust Foundation, Social Purpose Development Partners Inc, and two organizations that assist member co-ops in their management and maintenance, COHO Management Services Society and COHO Repair Services Inc. Together we work to support non-profit co-operative housing as a viable option for affordable shelter and vibrant, diverse, mixed-income communities.
The talented and hardworking team at P+A Interiors did a brilliant job designing our new offices on Commercial Drive. They exceeded our expectations, accommodating the unique needs of several co-locating organizations. Their attention to detail, and management of all phases of design and construction, furniture procurement and the move, allowed for a seamless transition to our new space with minimal down time.
Our new work environment facilitates communication and connectivity within and among all of our organizations. Our offices are healthy, environmentally friendly, efficient, comfortable and beautiful. Use of the shared conference room has become everyone’s favourite favour to ask of us! Staff and visitors alike continue to comment on how wonderful our new office is, and we are thrilled with how the relocation worked out.

I contracted P+A Interiors for a two phase renovation of the kitchen and bathroom in my Vancouver condo. The spaces were looking quite dated and needed a fresh start. I had some trepidation about the amount of disruption these renovations would cause, but P+A Interiors offered support throughout the entire process making the renovations as painless as possible. They solved any problems that arose and shielded me from the stress of dealing with those hiccups. Shelley and her team have great attention to detail. This attention assured that everything in my spaces looks and functions its absolute best. The finished spaces conform perfectly to my aesthetic and there is nothing I would change. Overall, I highly recommend P+A Interiors because of their outstanding service and impressive results.

The Bloom Group (formerly St. James Community Service Society)
The Bloom Group is a social service agency providing care for those in the Lower Mainland who face homelessness, poverty and isolation, mental illness and addictions, as well as chronic and terminal illness. The Bloom Group has a team of 300 dedicated staff providing a spectrum of support to over 2,000 people a year.
Shelley and P+A Interiors did wonderful work on our central administration office renovation and facelift. As a DTES organization that puts emphasis on our clients and our programs, we had somewhat neglected the look and feel of our office. With more projects underway and more staff needing space we asked P+A Interiors to design something that would be first of all functional as well as open, welcoming and cheerful. They did a great job of giving us exactly what we needed including managing contractors, all on a limited budget and on time! Subsequently, P+A Interiors performed a space review to re-locate our offices to another Powell Street location. They worked with us to develop the program. The analysis determined area and space requirements, and generated an adjacency matrix that was used to develop block plans and test-fits.

Tides Canada is an environmental and social justice charitable organization with its main offices in the historic Flack Block at the corner of Cambie and West Hastings street in Vancouver. As an organization with a strong environmental focus, it was important that we demonstrate these values in the spaces that we work. P+A Interiors were deeply involved in the design, planning, construction and LEED certification of our office space. P+A Interior’s team “got” what we needed out of the gate, and were fantastic to work with. When we needed to repurpose part of our space, we engaged P+A Interiors once again, and they rose to the challenge of making a unique and challenging space work for us.

Tides Renewal Centre
Our vision for what has become the Tides Renewal Centre, was to create office space in the downtown eastside where a synergy of ideas and action towards social and environmental change is possible. P+A Interiors responded with determination to evolving programmatic requirements, multiple stakeholders and a funky heritage building. The end result being interiors that look and feel great! The environment enables capacity building not only for Tides Canada and Renewal, but also smaller enterprises and organizations.
P+A Interiors led an extensive team of consultants, achieving a rigorous sustainability agenda, beyond the LEED Canada-CI Gold certification the project is attempting. Their creativity in translating a complex program into a beautiful expression, and their attention and diligence to managing the project and budget was outstanding!

Canada Green Building Council
The CaGBC's mission is to lead and accelerate the transformation to high-performing, healthy green buildings, homes and communities throughout Canada. With our Vancouver office, it was essential to achieve a high level of LEED® for Commercial Interiors certification. P+A Interiors worked tirelessly to solicit donations from manufacturers and suppliers, while simultaneously designing a beautiful work environment that makes efficient use of space for a growing organization. P+A Interiors contributed significantly to the CaGBC Vancouver office achieving Gold certification by optimizing points related to LEED Materials & Resources credits. The end result is a work environment that clearly communicates the CaGBC mission and brand, and the importance of good design.

Arbutus Lands Info Centre
I had the opportunity of working with P+A Interiors on the design and build out of the Arbutus Lands Info Centre, a temporary tenant fit-out, which was designed and constructed with sustainable materials. The project was designed so as to be deconstructed when no longer in use and the majority of materials and fixtures were adaptively reused by charitable organizations. P+A Interiors was able to create the design vision, with the end user and the function of the space in mind, while remaining open to client input and responding to onsite conditions. It was a pleasure to work with a team that clearly cares for the work they do and provides personal and professional service throughout the project.
